Serve on a Board or Committee

Serving on a board or committee is an excellent way to give get involved and give back to the community. The City of South Padre Island prides itself on transparency and community involvement. There are boards and committees in numerous areas and expertise so if there is one that you think you would be a good fit for we encourage you to submit an application.

Each Fall, the City of South Padre Island City Council looks for qualified volunteers to fill the expiring terms on the following committees:

• Board of Adjustments - (Must be a resident)
• Board of Ethics - (Must be a resident)
• Convention and Visitors Advisory Board - (Must be in the Hotel/Motel, Condo Rental Industry)
• Development Standards Review Task Force 
• Economic Development Corporation 
• Parks & Keep SPI Beautiful Committee
• Planning and Zoning Commission
• Shoreline Task Force 
• Special Events Committee (Must be in the tourism, hospitality, and events industry)

When openings are available, applications can be picked up at City Hall located at 4601 Padre Boulevard or you can download the application by clicking here. If you are interested in serving on any of these committees, please complete an application and forward to Angelique Soto, City Secretary.
