The Department primarily ensures the food safety of local restaurants and provides related training for servers and handlers working in city restaurants.
The Department conducts restaurant inspection ratings and assists restaurants with hurricane preparedness and in implementing post-emergency procedures.
The Department also plays a role in the plan review process that is administered by the Development Services department.
