Annexation

The purpose of this posting is to notify you the City of South Padre Island intends to annex areas within its extraterritorial jurisdiction as authorized in Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code.

The Annexation Map(s) below identify the areas proposed for annexation. The maps can be viewed at City Hall or on the internet at www.myspi.org. If you own property within the area shown in the Annexation Map then you will receive notice in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code that the property is being considered for Annexation into the City of South Padre Island. Under state law, the City may annex the area after following certain procedures, including notice(s) and hearings, contained in Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code. The City Council will conduct two (2) public hearing(s) on October 17, 2012, 5:30 p.m. at the Municipal Complex Building, Joyce H. Adams Board Room, 2nd Floor, 4601 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, Texas. For more information please click here.
