The full schedule for the 24th annual Sandcastle Days is moving forward! Master sculptors begin working on their creations Thursday. Their competition ends on Saturday. Sandcastle Days is being held at the north end of the city, on the beach at Clayton's Beach Resort, La Quinta Inn and Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn and Suites. Neighboring properties are also assisting in the hosting of this great family event.
There are many other activites, including amateur competitions, free sandcastle building lessons, a special masters speed sculpting event, vendors and a great closing shrimp boil experience, complete with a special "Castles by Candlelight" event. Sandcastle Days is free. The Saturday night dinner is only $5 with tickets available onsite. There is a charge for parking at Clayton's Beach Resort. There is free parking at the South Padre Island Convention Centre. A shuttle from the convention centre will be available Saturday and Sunday between 8am-7pm. You can also ride The Wave for free from anywhere on the Island and be dropped off on Padre Boulevard at the entrance to the event.
