A popular Winter Texan event, the annual Winter Outdoor Wildlife Expo returns to the South Padre Island Convention Center in February. Sponsored by St. Andrew's by the Sea Episcopal Church, the Feb. 9th event features a live raptor show and more than 20 seminars about the natural wonders of the Laguna Madre area and South Texas. Topics include fly fishing, bay fishing, bird watching, dolphins, turtles, butterflies and native plants. There will also be exhibits by non-profit environmental and wildlife organizations. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the Laguna Madre. Doors open at 8 a.m. with presentations starting at 8:30 a.m. Admission is $3, and there will be a raffle and silent auction.
