It is the beginning of Dune Restoration Season on South Padre Island and the Surfrider Foundation South Texas is continuing its partnership with the City of South Padre Island is completing a continuous dune line that will help preserve and restore our beaches after storms as well as provide habitat for local flora and fauna while providing natural infrastructure protection for the island.The first Dune Planting will be taking place on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 9AM to 12 PM at Beach Access #1 at the end of Harbor Street! All supplies and water will be provided!
This is an excellent educational and community service opportunity for families, schools and community organizations looking to give back to the great natural resource that is our beach!
