Event Description:

The City of South Padre Island is preparing for the upcoming hurricane season and will hold its annual "Hurricane Awareness meeting for citizens and visitors on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 5:30 PM at the South Padre Island City Hall located at 4601 Padre Boulevard.

Local officials along with representatives from the National Weather Service will discuss the forecast for the upcoming 2012 Hurricane Season that will begin on June 1st and last until November 30th. The agenda will include discussion of the City's emergency plans in the event of a hurricane strike and valuable lessons learned from Hurricane Dolly in 2008.
